What Is The OLEV EVHS Grant?
The ‘OLEV Grant’ is a government grant for electric cars provided by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV).
Also known as Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) provides 75% off the cost of purchasing & installing a home charging point upto a maximum of £350.
Available for most electric cars and plug-in hybrid cars, old or new.
You can claim one charging point per eligible vehicle and up to two charging points per household.
Do I Qualify?
To qualify for the OLEV Grant you must abide by the the below criteria
- You need to have purchased an eligible electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle
- You must have off-street parking
- You must use an OLEV-approved home charging point installer
- The date of installation must not be more than 4 months ahead of the date of delivery or date the customer becomes the registered driver of the electric vehicle.
EVHS Eligible Vehicles
All vehicles that have been approved as ultra-low emission vehicles by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles are eligible for the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme.

- Electric Taxi’s
OLEV maintains a list of those vehicles which are eligible.
Proof Of Ownership
We will need to show OLEV that you own or are the primary driver of an EVHS eligible vehicle and we do this by sending them some documents. Below details what documents we need depending on how you own the vehicle:
- Outright Owner – Copy of V5C (Pages 1 & 2) or proof of order
- Personal Lease – Full lease agreement
- Company car driver – Letter from employer
- Salary Sacrifice – Letter from employer or vehicle providor

How Do I Apply?
Simple.
To claim £350 off the cost of your charging point, simply complete and return the brief information form and accompanying proof of ownership.
