Boilers
There are a few different types of modern boilers on the market, and deciding between them can be difficult.
The boiler you’re most likely to have installed is a combi boiler. As the name suggests, these boilers combine a water heater and central heating system in one package. This means you don’t need an external water tank.
A system boiler does require an external tank. However this only stores hot water and all of the heating is carried out by the boiler itself.
The third type of boiler you might come across is a standard boiler. These boilers need hot and cold water tanks and are usually more suited to older homes with existing heating and storage systems.
Which ever you chose, it will be an A rated for efficiency.
Choosing between different brands of boiler can be confusing at first, but each brand brings its own advantages and selling points.
Different brands will sit in different price ranges, so look at brands that fit your budget, then use sites like Which? to look into reviews and ratings for different brands to find the right brand for you.
Warma UK has access to all the major boiler manufacturers and we will reccomend the best boiler for your needs.
The general lifespan of a boiler is around 10 to 15 years. While this is an average, your boiler may last longer if you take care of it well.
You should decide to replace your boiler when repairs become too expensive or start mounting up. Opting for a new boiler at this point should save you money in the long run.
An expert engineer should be able to help you decide on the right time to replace your boiler.
Getting your boiler serviced when there doesn’t appear to be any issue may seem unnecessary, but servicing your boiler once a year should help to prolong its lifespan.
Having an annual service should help you avoid unforeseen problems with your boiler, and keep it running efficiently.
Having an annual boiler service is also a condition that manufacturers stipulate must be carried out to keep the warranty valid
Yes all our products come with a guarantee.
Guarantees or warranties vary, by product and manufacturer.
All our products are guaranteed for a minimum of 1 year (radiators 10 years, copper tube 25 years) but many offer longer warranties from the manufacturer, which you may need to register for.
The warranty of the boiler will be specified on your quote.
Insulation
The cavity wall is injected with insulating material by drilling holes in the external wall, through the mortar joint. Holes are generally of 22-25mm diameter and are ‘made good’ after injection. Each hole is injected in turn, starting at the bottom.
Before the installation, we will undertake an assessment of your property to confirm that it is suitable for insulation. This assessment may be undertaken by a surveyor or the Technician before installation.
Yes – if your heating is not controlled by a thermostat. However, if you have a thermostat, it will cut out the heating at the same temperature, so you may not notice the difference in the room with the thermostat. However, you should find that the temperature in other parts of your house improves, for example, the small bedroom on the corner.
With CWI, you should find that the house holds its temperature for longer, therefore the time between heating cycles may be longer. The result should be a more even temperature throughout the house and / or a reduced fuel bill.
Installation can take place room by room to minimize disruption to your home, however, you will notice some noise and dust. Our technical teams are trained in best practice and will ensure they leave your property as clean and tidy as possible.
Wall light fittings, radiators, pipework and room features such as skirting boards, doorframes and coving will be removed first. This is so they can be reattached to the insulation panels that will make up the ‘new’ internal wall.
You will notice straight away that the room feels warmer – and is easier to keep warm. You may also benefit from improved sound insulation. Depending on the thickness of the insulation panels used, you will notice a slightly reduced floor area of the room.

Grants
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government scheme that was introduced in 2013 as one of the many ways the UK are trying to reduce carbon emissions. Under the Scheme, Energy companies are Obligated to provide free grants to low income or vulnerable homes so they can afford new energy saving measures in their property.
Yes! The Grant you receive is not repayable under any circumstances and it will not affect any current or future benefits claims.
Under ECO Rules, the value of the Grant awarded is based on what improvement can be made on your homes energy efficiency. This varies from house to house and depends on a few factors of your home such as, Detachment, Number of bedrooms, Current Heating, Wall construction.
Our Grant advisors will go through all of this with you and ensure we are getting the maximum grant for your property.
This depends on the value of the grant your property is entitled to and the cost of the installation.
Our Grant Advisors will let you know how much Grant is available for your property, then provide a quote to install your chosen measure, If the Grant is larger then the Quote then there will be nothing to pay. On the other hand, if your Grant is lower then the install cost then you will have to pay the difference if you would like to proceed.
Yes. We work with all major manufacturers in the UK and our Grant advisors will go through your requirements with you to recommend the most suitable boiler. if you already have a particular boiler in mind, and it meets ECO minimum efficiency requirements then we will provide a quote for you.
